Lazarus at the Tale is the fruit of more than two decades of instructing students in the social teachings of the Catholic Church. For most of these years Bernard Evans has taught graduate students. Lately he also teaches lay Catholics engaged in parish ministry and enrolled in diocesan ministry formation programs. This book is written specifically for the latter group.
Evans agrees with the bishops of the United States who insist that any Catholic education that does not include Catholic social teaching is not fully Catholic. I read from this book at different times such as when I need reminding of how and why I can handle events. It is a good way to remember that families have issues even when all seems to be all right in the world. I know that not all is well in my community and in the world and that I need to stay alert to needs that my community has! This book is a great source of gentle reminders to do what still need to get done.
